The UniSA Boardriders Club had another successful day with 14 members coming out, many for the first time and first experience of surfing. The day started early, with a little bit of drizzle and fog on the drive, which managed to clear up on arrival to Middleton. While initially a little chilly, everyone managed to warm up after donning their wetsuits and soon everyone was eager to get into the surf. The swell wasn't large, perhaps 1-2 ft, which made for perfect conditions for our predominately beginner cohort. The South Coast Surf Academy provided lessons again with great satisfaction, with almost 100% of participants getting to stand up at least a few times. Everyone was thoroughly tired after the 2 hour lesson and enjoyed a warming lunch at a local Bakery. While driving along the coast some people were lucky enough to sight some whales on their annual migration. The group arrived back in Adelaide very pleased with their efforts and keen for the next surf day.
