1. Join #TeamUniSA and Reap the Memberships Benefits

We want to make one thing clear from the very start… there are two types of UniSA Sport memberships, meaning there are heaps of different ways you can get involved. For those interested in participating in clubs and events – The UniSA Sport Clubs and Events Membership is the one for you. AND it’s FREE for students! However, you don’t have to be a UniSA student to be a member, it’s available for UniSA staff, alumni and the general public for just a small fee. There are loads of benefits of having a UniSA Sport clubs and events membership, including access to participate in clubs and representative sport, receive our Sport E-Newsletter throughout the year to keep up with all things UniSA Sport, and most importantly, it means you have personal injury insurance in case there’s a mishap at any UniSA Sport approved activities. If you’re more interested in pumping weights or swimming laps, we also have our Gym and Pool memberships – which are super affordable and available to everyone on either direct debit, up-front or on a casual basis. We have facility gym and pool membership to suit everyone.

2. Fantastic Facilities

We have brilliant facilities on all four metro campuses, but each has its own unique benefits. At Pridham Hall at City West, you have everything from a gym and pool, to indoor courts and group fitness. Pridham Hall is a state-of-the-art facility with brand new gym equipment and boutique lap pool, and an easy-going friendly vibe. At Mawson Lakes, there’s not only a gym but also multi-sport courts and squash courts available for hire. There is a gym, pool and indoor courts at Magill, while City East has a gym. Our gyms have some of the most qualified instructors in Adelaide, with all of them having completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degrees and the gyms have a large range of quality equipment for you to use.

We offer personal training at all of our gyms, where trainers will provide support and encouragement as well as guidance on safe techniques and practices. They will help you stay motivated and achieve your fitness goals, and all for a very affordable rate.

5. Make a Splash in our Pools

We have two 25m heated pools that both have lanes for lap swimming. Magill’s pool is also suitable for a wide range of fun activities such as swimming carnivals, water polo, water volleyball and canoeing. At City West pool, there is a large access ramp and a water wheelchair available for no charge, plus it is indoor and open all year round.

6. It’s Never Too Late to Learn to Swim

Water safety is incredibly important in Australia, so if you aren’t a confident swimmer, book in some lessons at Magill or City West pools. All our lessons are conducted by qualified AUSTSWIM instructors. At Magill, we also have junior and performance squads. We offer lessons for people of all ages, starting at age five to adults, so get your goggles and jump in!

We have all the tools you’ll need to get started!

Travelling to the Gold Coast with your mates can be part of your UniSA experience. The UniSport Nationals run twice a year up in the Gold Coast and are a great opportunity to represent your Uni and play some high-quality sport against teams from all around Australia.

A great opportunity to get involved with the event that brings staff, students and schools together on the playing field.

12. Volunteering for the win!

You don’t have to participate on the field to be involved with UniSA Sport. You can volunteer for UniSA sporting clubs and for UniSA Sport. For example, you can volunteer as a team manager/coach at the UniSport Nationals Div 1 or Div 2 held on the Gold Coast twice a year. We are always happy to have a chat to see if we can help you find a volunteering role. In any event, volunteering is a great way to get more experience and boost your CV and skill set while making you feel good on the inside.

13. Get the Experience You Need with Student Placements

Are your lecturers banging on about getting experience before you graduate? Look no further than UniSA Sport, who provides several student placement opportunities in events, facilities and clubs.
