Kendo Beginners Course

2021 AUKC and UniSAIKC Kendo Beginners Course

This year UniSA will be running an 8 week beginners course in partnership with Adelaide University Kendo Club. 

COST:
$120 non-refundable (includes shinai bamboo sword)

DURATION: 
8 weeks (classes are once a week)

COURSE START DATE:
Sunday 11th April

LOCATION:
Sundays in the main gymnasium at Pridham Hall, City West Campus, 1 - 3 pm
 

You do not have to be a university student to join the beginners course.

Important:

  • The first class is free, however participants must pay course fees by the start of the second class to continue.
  • All you need to bring along to the first class is yourself, wearing clothing that you are comfortable to train in.
  • No jewellery while training (including watches and wrist worn fitbits as these can be damaged during training).
  • Anyone with a shinai can bring that along with you as well.

COVID SAFETY requirements:

  • Participants are required to sign an attendance sheet at every training
  • Participants are required to use sanitizing stations at indoor training venues before and after training.
  • Participants are required to use their own shinai and shinai accessories.
  • Keep a distance of 1.5 metres between each other during training.
  • No spitting, coughing or clearing of nasal/respiratory secretions. 
  • If you are feeling unwell, please DO NOT come to training. 

Please arrive 5 min before class, as other groups may be using the facilities.

2021 UniSAIKC Iaijutsu Beginners Course
There is no beginners course for Iaijutsu. You can just come to any Iajutsu training in comfortable clothing and you will be taught the basic of the Iaijutsu Martial Arts. The first lesson is free.
