The UniSA Powerlifting Club is a new UniSA Sport affiliated club.


About Us

The UniSA Powerlifting Club welcomes members new to the sport with the primary disciplines of squat, bench and deadlift!


Weekly training sessions are at UniSA City East campus in H1-11 on:

  • Wednesday 6:00-9:00pm
  • Friday 5:30-8:30pm
  • Saturday 10:00am-1:00pm (Only available on the first Saturday of every month - email us for more details)

The way to enter the club is via card access which is only available to our members who are supervisors, so please email us if you'd like to get in and a supervisor give you their contact details to help you enter our training space. 

Group training sessions will reserved for the first 90 minutes of each session. These are perfect for beginners of if you're unsure of how to squat, bench or deadlift properly. We will have a program written up with guided warm-ups, supervised hands-on technical coaching and assistance movements to finish off to ensure you're performing the basics properly. We will also have a dedicated facebook group where if you'd like video feedback on your lifts, you can post here and a coach will provide you feedback as well. 

If you're experienced you're more than welcome to use the space as an open gym however we do have a nice competition setup with competition power bars, calibrated plates and a competition approved training rack. Furthermore our coaches in our club offer online coaching as well if you're looking for more individualized programming. 


UniSA Powerlifting Club will be hosting a novice powerlifting competitions during select times in the year which are aimed at people who are new to competing to familiarize themselves with how competitions work. We will be hosting sanctioned competitions at an external location through another endorsed powerlifting gym throughout the year. Contact us for futher details around these if you're interested. 

P.S. You don't have to compete in powerlifting nor are there minimum strength standards to join the club! If you want to learn how to squat, bench and deadlift better, feel more confident and be stronger that's all you need (the right attitude) 

Membership Fees

To join the club you must be a current Team UniSA member (free for UniSA Students and $25 for UniSA Staff, Alumni and community members).  Annual club fees apply for UniSA students, UniSA staff, alumni and community members.
