The theme for the 2023 University Sport Club Conference is ‘Welcoming and Inclusive Clubs’.
A number of outstanding guest speakers will present and facilitate discussion throughout the day, including:
- Club of the Future: Paul Moore (Office for Recreation, Sport & Racing) will discuss the club of the future framework developed by ORSR after extensive community consultation. It addresses the key trends and issues outlined in Game On, guiding clubs to adapt to current and future needs to ensure they continue to thrive. A Club of the Future will be innovative, technology savy and sustainable, identifying ways to work smarter not harder.
- A panel of University club members will provide case studies on a number of the Club of the Future focus areas. Jarryd from Corromandel Valley Rambler's Cricket Club will discuss using a chatbox to develop and enhance your clubs sponsor loyalty program.
- Activating Inclusion: John Cranwell (Chief Executive, Active Inclusion)- This presentation is a starting point to changing mindsets and building an inclusive culture in your club, with an overview of best practice of inclusion, diversity and equitable access principles. The benefits of an inclusive culture and creating a strong sense of belonging within your club will be explored as well as adopting a person centred approach to inclusivity.
- The Active Inclusion workshop will provide real examples for you to work through in small groups to come up with solutions for creating an inclusive environment for a variety of demographics.
The conference is supported by the Office of Recreation, Sport and Racing and University Sport Australia.
