Six student-athletes - all of whom are on UniSA's elite athlete register - proudly represented the university at the recent UniSport Nationals Athletics Championships on the Gold Coast, bringing home two medals. Four of the six students are part of UniSA Sport's Athlete Development Program (ADP) and two students are studying through UniSA Online.

The UniSport Australia standalone event was held from 22nd-24th April, with more than 450 of Australian university’s strongest student-athletes from across the nation competing for glory in men’s, women’s and multi-class events.

Cheered on by their team manager, and current UniSA student, Patrick Schultz; Isabella Guthrie brought home gold in the 400m hurdles, successfully defending her 2024 title! Taylor Larsson won UniSA’s second medal, a bronze in the women’s shot put. A special mention to Lillee Wakefield who achieved a UniSport Australia record in the para-discus, throwing 25.05m.

UniSport is the peak governing body of the Nationals competition, that offers the opportunity for student representatives of the 43 member universities to compete in the championships.
