A message from Caitlin Adams:

"I had an amazing experience in St Gallen (Switzerland) for the World Uni Cross Country Championships from the 4th to the 8th April. I was so proud to wear the Aussie Green and Gold and compete against the best. The women’s cross country event was 10km consisting of 6.5 laps. The course was a typical cross country course, which included log barriers, pot holes and hills.

Individually, I finished 14th on the day out of over 60 competitors, 2nd Australian overall. I was very proud of this result as I know that I raced tough and left everything out on the course. Being my first open age international event, I have learnt a lot from the experience as an athlete and am very hungry for the next opportunity.

A nice surprise was being awarded with a Bronze Mixed Teams Medal! The first 2 male and female finishers from each country score in this category.

I was so grateful to receive a UniSA Sport grant which enabled me to be able to focus all of my energy on my preparation and training in the lead up to the event."
