The Student Engagement Unit has won Event Two of the VC Cup after a thrilling finish in the volleyball competition held at UniSA Magill Sports Centre.

On Friday, October 23, five teams from Units across the University of South Australia competed in the tight and enjoyable event.

It was as close a final as could be, with SEU beating Allied Health and Human Performance by only one point. It took a comeback to get the win, with SEU down 12-16 at one stage of the final, only to get a run of serves to finish 17-16 when the buzzer went.

UniSA International won the third place play off against Event One winners, STEM.

Member of the winning SEU team Jackie Chong said she loved being involved in a competition played in such good spirits.

“It was great fun getting out on the court with our workmates and was super exciting when we won such a close game,” Chong said.

“The final was a good quality match too, so it was great to come away with the win given we hadn’t played together before.”

Thank you to everyone who got involved with the VC Cup in 2020!

The overall winner of the VC Cup will be announced at the UniSA Sport Awards on Tuesday, December 1. Click here for more details.
