As the SA Challenge Intervarsity Tournament wraps up for another year, we would like to officially congratulate Team UniSA who won the overall 2021 SA Challenge Cup! The first win for the University of South Australia since 2017. Over 170 students represented Team UniSA in 15 sports tournaments against Flinders University, the University of Adelaide and Torrens University. Our UniSA competitors showed us what they were made of, bringing home a total of 6 shields in Tennis, Touch Football, Wheelchair Basketball, Squash, Strava App and Esports competitions.

The UniSport Australia endorsed event helped to celebrate 100 years of University Sport in Australia. With around 500 students who participated in the competition across the four universities there was some strong competition. Adelaide Uni won the Ultimate Frisbee, Lacrosse, Badminton & Soccer competitions. Flinders Uni won the netball, volleyball, basketball and table tennis competitions. Torrens Uni won the cricket competition.

Our very own UniSA Pridham Hall was just one of the various locations were the sports were held during the challenge, along with Flinders University and the University of Adelaide Playing Fields.

There were also a further 55 UniSA students who participated in the Intervarsity Sports Carnival on September 20, in line with International Day of University Sport. The event aimed at providing students with further opportunities to represent their university and connect with each other through sport.
