UniSA Sport Clubs
Our goal at UniSA Sport is to encourage students to participate in sport and active recreation, develop friendships and build long-term connections with UniSA.
We offer 28 endorsed and affiliated clubs
that provide involvement at all levels for our students, staff, alumni and the wider community.
To stay accessible for our students and enhance the student experience, UniSA Sport Clubs offer affordable membership fees.
However, this means income does not always allow for the upgrading of equipment, funding development opportunities for coaches or hiring external facilities for training and matches.
With your donation, we can help clubs to become more professional in their operations, attract more students, and direct funds where they are most needed.
Each year UniSA Sport supports students to compete in Intervarsity events such as the UniSport Nationals Div 1 & Div 2
These Intervarsity programs allow students to represent UniSA while meeting other students both nationally and internationally.
UniSA Sport’s aim in Intervarsity Sport is to be consistently ranked in the top third of Australian Universities and the leading sports University in South Australia.
However, to compete, students pay for their own event registration, flights, and accommodation which can prohibit our talented, passionate athletes from participating.
Your donation to the Intervarsity program can subsidise the costs involved and encourage our students to pursue their athletic goals.
"I think that my experiences representing UniSA certainly made it easier to enjoy being at uni, especially because of the social benefits. Meeting a wider variety of people has been the main benefit of being involved in uni sport but it’s also meant I’ve been more involved with the university which created a greater sense of belonging." – Chloe Scott, Lacrosse
"I was fortunate enough to attend UniSport Nationals 2018 on the Gold Coast and be part of Team UniSA. The lead up to the games connected me with other like-minded students who were passionate in achieving their sporting goals. Being involved provided me with that sense of belonging and purpose so often sought after at university. The skills acquired as part of the experience are unparalleled to many other opportunities offered. I was able to enhance my leadership qualities and own personal development whilst creating networks with students and faculty from across Australia. Being in a position to represent UniSA brought me a sense of pride and belonging I still carry with me throughout my studies and uni experience, and can’t wait to share it with others." – Matt Sheldon, Mixed Netball
"I’m super passionate about representing my Uni and the wider Ultimate community, it’s something I make very well known when travelling. They’ve helped give me the opportunities to develop as a player and the Ultimate club and I’m truly thankful for that. Ironically, I never thought I’d be
one to get involved with the ‘uni community’ as I already had my friends but being involved with UniSA Sport and the Ultimate Club have led me to be involved in numerous fun events which I know find myself advocating to other students." – Sean Davis, UniSA Ultimate Club
