The UniSA Hockey Club was founded over forty years ago, with a single goal; to offer safe, fun, affordable, and competitive hockey for anyone keen to play.
In 2019 the club had about 90 members. This year, with a shortened season the club will enter two men's teams (Metro 3 and 4) and two women's teams (Metro 2 and 3) in the Hockey SA Metro League. Catering for a range of skills and a variety of fitness levels, including beginners.
The club competes during the winter in the Hockey SA metro competition and in the summer a modified 7-a-side competition. In recent years the club has Introduced a junior development program.
In 2020 the Division 2 women’s team made the semi-finals and the Division 3 women reached the finals for the 3rd year in a row. The club are hungry for premiership success and see the 2020 season as a great opportunity for this to happen.
The best part of being involved in a UniSA Sport club is the UniSA Sport family and culture that has developed over time within the club. The ability for old and new UniSA students to network and socialise as-well as being able to represent the university brand.
With restrictions being lifted, the club will commence training Wednesday 3 June 2020. The club train weekly on artificial turf at Woodville. New and existing players are welcome.
