Team UniSA has claimed second place in this year’s SA Challenge with an impressive display of passion and skill in the annual intervarsity tournament. The team dominated several events, including wheelchair basketball, basketball, netball, and men's soccer. Flinders University emerged as the ultimate victor this year, securing the highly coveted SA Challenge trophy.
The SA Challenge is an annual intervarsity multi-sport competition that provides opportunities for students to network with their inter-uni peers. This year, students from UniSA, Flinders University and the University of Adelaide registered to compete. The event is endorsed by UniSport Australia and is all about participation, having a go and fighting it out against our SA rivals!
This year's challenge consisted of 11 sports, commencing in March with a thrilling Tennis tournament at the Millswood Tennis Centre and concluding in August with an intense 7-a-side Soccer tournament at the Adelaide University Playing Fields. Pridham Hall played host to several indoor events such as netball and table tennis – providing athletes with a vibrant and supportive atmosphere.
Congratulations to all 112 Team UniSA participants; and UniSA Sport Activators who contributed their time, effort, and passion to make this year's SA Challenge an extraordinary success. Their commitment to excellence and spirited performances made the event a true celebration of athleticism and sportsmanship.
As we reflect on this year's achievements, we also eagerly await the next SA Challenge in 2024. With the bar now set high, we anticipate even more thrilling competitions that will push the boundaries of sporting excellence.
