UniSport Australia is the peak governing body for university sport in Australia. Working closely with its members, state and national sporting organisations, UniSport Australia operates regional, national and international sporting competitions. These events cover over forty sports in championship and games format, including the prestigious UniSport Nationals, and the very popular Australian University Championships.
UniSA Sport co-hosts the annual SA Challenge , an intervarsity sports tournament where UniSA students compete against cross-town rivals the University of Adelaide, Flinders University and Torrens University in multiple sports throughout the year. The event is endorsed by UniSport Australia and the overall winning university is awarded the SA Challenge Cup.
Each year UniSA Sport sends students interstate to compete in the UniSport Nationals. With a focus on performance, student athletes from 42 Australian Universities compete in multiple team and individual sports for Nationals gold. In addition to these events, students can also compete and represent UniSA and Australia at the World University Games, pending qualification.
The 2024 UniSport Nationals multi-sport event is due to be held in Canberra, ACT in September. Click on the 'UniSport Nationals Event Details' tile below for more information. The UniSport Australia Event Calendar can be viewed by clicking on the 'Standalone Events' tile below.
