UniSA Rock Climbing Club
Pridham Hall is the UniSA Rock Climbing Club's rock climbing wall at the UniSA City West campus. It is used exclusively by the UniSA Rock Climbing Club! We run weekly sessions on Tuesdays from 5.30-8.30pm.
To climb at Pridham Hall bookings are required at the moment due to COVID-19 restrictions. All members are emailed a link each week to book into the session. As restrictions ease, sessions will no longer require a booking.
We climb together as a club every Tuesday (even during the semester breaks) from 5:30 - 8:30pm!
The wall has 5 "top ropes" and climbing grades vary from 12 - 25 (if you don't know what this means, don't worry, it just means that there are easy and hard climbs and everyone can learn to do it!)
How much do Pridham Hall sessions cost?
Pridham Hall sessions are FREE for financial club members!
If you're not a club member, we offer one-off 'Come and Try' passes for $15 so you can have a go! They're able to be pre-purchased from the 'store'.
I haven't been to Pridham Hall before, does this matter?
If you have not been to Pridham Hall before, you will need to do an induction session. For the induction session please ensure you arrive by 6 pm. These do not incur any additional costs. We will teach you everything you need to know to climb at Pridham Hall.
I’m brand new at climbing, can I come and climb?
Yes!! New people are very welcome at the Pridham Hall sessions! Either buy a come and try pass or join the club to join! Then just come before 6 pm on Tuesdays and we will run a safety course and teach you everything you need to know to climb!
I’m not very strong. Does this matter?
Of course not! That's why climbing is such a great sport - it doesn’t matter how strong you are. You will get stronger quickly and learn great techniques to help you reach the top of your climbs!
I’m new, what should I bring to a climbing session?
Just wear comfortable gym clothes and bring water! If you have climbing shoes or harnesses you can also bring those! If you don’t have climbing equipment, we have harnesses, shoes (in most sizes but not all) and chalk for you to use!
Will I need to buy any gear or equipment?
We provide shoes, harnesses, chalk, and ropes at each venue. Usually, there is more than enough however, sometimes we run out of sizes so please understand that availability is limited. Usually, people prefer to gradually buy their own gear if they really take a liking to the sport. You do not need to bring any rope/quickdraws/belay devices etc
